The corona virus covid 19 pandemic has messed up our schedules a lot. right from new school routines to the morning routines almost everything has changed and not everyone may be comfortable catching up with it.But we as human beings have the potential to achieve anything when we have enough time for self care and self love. After all, Productivity Keyed believes that on can stay productive only if there are equal amounts of self care which leads to self love.
Why am I writing this ?
So as I was posting instagram stories and talking to friends about how happy I was during quarantine, I faced a lot of questions.Me telling "Quarantine is awesome !" makes them feel like I'm bluffing or pretending like those fake people who post luxuries lifestyle when in reality, are running in debt.I even talked to a blogger who faced a burnout recently and as I keep interacting with friends and new people over the internet realize that many students are going through depression and the working people are going through burnouts.
There are people who have lost their job and are hustling for the first time and are more probable to face burnouts. If you are reading this,Good luck with your journey :)
So this is where I realized that I am having a very simple ,yet effective routine and I feel as a productivity blogger , I must share this.
And by the way, If you didn't know what a burnout is,I am very sure just haven't identified it by the name.Click here to give it a read.
My Simple routine.
1) Prayer in the morning.
As soon as I wake up,I don't look into the smartphone scrolling mindlessly into the random stuff. Every night,I turn OFF Wi-Fi and turn on Airplane mode.I set my alarm and then switch OFF my smartphone.
Sounds weird right ? Doing all that setting and then switching it OFF totally has a strategy embedded in it.When I wake up, the worst thing I can possibly do is to snooze the alarm.
This helps my empty mind to focus fully on myself and my connection with the god I believe in. If you are an atheist, you can skip this.Won't affect the routine.
2) Yoga & Meditation.
There are people who devote hours for Yoga but all the Surya namaskar I do and the Pranayamas I do take up around 15 minutes to the maximum. If you didn't understand those terms, surya namaskar is stretching the body in different postures and Pranayamas are breathing exercises.
After that, I do a 5 minute mindfulness meditation. This is very powerful in my opinion.I have a dedicated article which you can read by clicking here.
3) A minute of Planche / Plank (How so ever you spell it.)
This is very simple to do and needs to equipment. If you already don't know,it is an exercise in which you support your body on your toes and elbows .This will release my cortisol hormone and make me feel energetic and also strengthens my core.
4)Read a book.(Non - Fiction is more preferred)
This is really wonderful to me. As I learn about new things by experienced people,It opens up my perspective on things.I'm currently reading " A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle. And will tell someone something amazing I read from it.
Seems long ? Hardly Takes me a little more than an hour which is almost the time I travel to my college everyday.
Pro Tip.
Don't watch the news. Just Don't !
Seriously comment me this if you think that pro tip was foolish,What value are you gaining out of listening to the news ? looking at the numbers and getting that panic driven stress !. All you ever need to know is to wear a mask when you go outside and wash hands regularly. That's what I always end my article with.
