Why learning online courses feel effective than long YouTube videos ? | Pomodoro Technique

Before is start my explanation on my observation i would like to make it clear here that majority of the course instructors are well trained on the topic they speak and may be far more experienced than a random You Tuber who has good teaching skills. However, this article isn't about that, its more about the way the courses are structured.   So,In this Quarantine, as I was interested in learning something new, I decided to start learning Python. As for the very beginning I searched on YouTube for the videos and found stuff like, "learn the basics in this one video", or "Become a python developer after this video".  Being new into the coding space,I was already skeptical about the possibility of it and when I saw the duration of the videos, I totally lost interest in it. It was damn 7 hour long video!. When I called up friends and asked for a workaround, some suggested courses as they would be more informative and wouldn't be that long for a bas...

How to use Social Media to stay Productive.

Yep, you read that right. This cannot be possible at all is NOT what I want to convey here.it is. And I've tried using that and was being productive. Without me knowing that. So as i was searching for podcasts to listen on Spotify, i came across this one called the Productivityist Podcast and the name got my attention. Being new into the podcasting experience, I wanted to listen to something that takes less time to finish. So i saw this one titled Social media and Productivity was around 19 minutes and i decided to give it a try. So this is what I took away with that and felt i need to share it with you.  So Social media and productivity sounds like an oxymoron. If you don't know what an oxymoron is, it is two words which convey opposite meanings of each other. So how is it possible to attain productivity through something that kills productivity! Is what i thought to myself as soon as i came across this.  This is because we need human interaction as humans. The w...

How Deadlines can help you live better | Parkinson's Law

Let me rewind you back to your school days, like early primary days where you were given "summer holiday assignments" I was given cursive writing for handwriting practice which i hardly did by the way. But what ever was given to us as work that is to be completed within the next one or two months, majority of us don't start it the day one. There might be some who plan on finishing the most unpleasant tasks first like Brian Tracy says in the title of his famous book " Eat the Frog " and finish it with making up their mind that they can enjoy the rest of the vacation to the fullest If that work is done at the earliest. That's one strategy that worked well those days because we didn't have much tasks to organize and more importantly the necessity to learn about productivity.  But as we grow up, we start to do new things and setting a goal or deadline becomes very crucial to enjoy being productive. Now let's come back to the summer vacation t...

The most overlooked productivity tool. | To - Do List.

Productivity tools are by far the most interesting things I'd like to talk about. They are most often the regular stuff that you use, but in a different way to serve the purpose. For example , earphones are usually for listening to songs or podcast and watching movies. But there are people who use the same to listen to study music or meditation tracks which help in getting them focused.  Likewise, the To - Do list is the most overlooked tool for getting productive at anything you do.you might have used the same concept in your supermarket checklist. Remember going to the supermarket before we started ordering groceries from amazon and flipkart? We'd make a long list of the stuff we need to purchase and would have a lot of fun collecting everything and filling up the basket or trolley or whatever and feel a great sense of satisfaction once we've striked them all.  Did you know that the first ever rocket launch happened with the help of a To - Do list ?...

12+ Ways people are staying Productive in this Pandemic.

Wanting to have a long vacation like this is something that gave me an excuse for not doing new things. As i was surfing the web, scrolling through instagram i came across a lot of ways to use this quarantine time wisely. There were a lot that were very useful. But i can't do them all right? But what I can do is share it with you so that me coming across those would not become waste of time. In this article, I have collected many different things people are learning to do in this quarantine .No, I am not talking about people learning academic subjects or a new programming language. This is a list of stuff which anyone can learn to do and would be far more interesting and beneficial than what you learn for school or college or workplace. 1) Growing the Instagram following Instagram is the best way for anyone to gather and grow an audience or be a part of a like-minded community. Many suggestions on how one can start to provide value to people (give people reason to remem...

This is why you should consider switching back to your old alarm clock .

Smartphone addiction has become the talk of every day. Especially when your parents relate it to each and every thing you face. If you are born anywhere around the 90 s,you must have smiled by now as it would be totally relatable to you.  Our generation is the luckiest to be the first to use many technologies. And most of our parents really have a hard time due to the additional parenting stress they undergo, raising us as children who explore things that are totally new to them and are unaware of the negatives it can bring in our lives. So coming back to the topic, why should you replace your smartphone alarm with a conventional alarm?  It is because of the fact that it can have a good impact on your mind leading to a great impact on productivity. Try asking your parents, how their mornings were like, back in those days when there weren't smartphones and if you come from a village background, chances are that your parents woke up to good stuff like sound the rooster...

This is why, the Greyscale Mode is not as accessible as the Dark mode - Attention Engineers.

So as i was surfing the web to find a way to curb my smartphone addiction, i saw a ton of information on the Internet. There were a lot of crazy stuff which wouldn't be practical at all to implement for me like, "Stay a week without your smartphone and you'll get away with the addiction" and other ways which weren't that much interesting for me to try as I'm someone who is interested in making small changes that aren't noticeable much but have a great impact.  This may sound unrealistic or something like I'm expecting big returns without putting in hard work. It's not wrong if you feel so, cause when I was ignorant, i thought the same.  So let's get back to the method in the title. I saw this method as one of the methods suggested by Vivek Mittal in his FitTuber YouTube channel, tried it out personally and was eager to know why it worked (Or) as I'd like to say it, the psychology of it. A common misconception.  I'd lik...
